Dreams do come true because I met Traci Hunter Abramson!
Traci has been a published author for twenty years! She has over fifty five books and more on the way. Traci is known for her clean mystery/suspense novels featuring FBI and CIA agents. If you thought that’s where Traci’s cool meter peaked, you’d be wrong. She also worked for the CIA! I imagine that makes her books more accurate and they are definitely exciting. AND she can cook! She has a cookbook out in the world and I’m still dying to try her famous cinnamon rolls. I admire Traci for all of those things, but she is also a wife, mother, and woman of faith. #lifegoals
As a mystery/suspense author myself, currently querying agents and small publishers, I look up to Traci and her ability to write several novels a year. I don’t know how she does it all. She has books published through Covenant and soon will be published by Shadow Mountain Publishing. They recently announced on YouTube that they were starting a suspense line with Traci. I may or may not have shouted for joy for Traci and my own hopes and dreams.
So, naturally, when Traci announced she would be having a signing at Seagull Book, I marked my calendar and warned my family that I would be gone all night. I was joking, but it ended up being true!
I ran into an author friend, some Instagram friends, and got to chat it up with Traci. All these amazing women inspire and uplift. I felt energized! I’m ready to have a lot more fun on IG and finish writing my second mystery/suspense novel.
Traci is so kind and encouraging. She will never know how her words were like a lifeline to me. Writing is an exhausting rollercoaster ride. One minute I’m getting amazing feedback and feeling like I’ll be published any day then the next minute I’m still waiting and waiting to hear back from agents and publishers wondering if they hate my book. Starting a second book when you have no clue if your first book is going to make it is a little awkward. But I feel like my writing is getting better and better each day because of my invaluable critique partners and writing friends.
Thank you Traci for chatting with a lowly writer and giving me hope for the future. You are an amazing human being.
