King Jaron comes across as really immature for a king and a man about ready to get married. Luckily, that calms down throughout the book as he uses his talents to get himself and the ones he loves out of danger. Though he can't save them all.

This novel is the final book in the series and it throws a hard punch full of death, injury, and destruction on Jaron's soil.
