I should start by saying I’ve never read a Sanderson book before. I wasn’t sure what to expect. 
TRESS OF THE EMERALD SEA was delightful!
It has cozy fantasy vibes, a heroine worth cheering for, and it’s inspired by The Princess Bride. What’s not to like?

The POV the book is written in is a little silly and different than most books I’ve read, but it adds to the charm. 

Tress is content with her life until the man she loves leaves their hometown and is captured by the sorceress. Tress gathers her courage and sets off to save Charlie. She meets some unlikely shipmates and her adventure starts off with a bang. 
I really enjoyed this fast paced adventure through a dangerous new world. AND the end?!? Loved it.
