I listened to Where are the Children Now? from my public library app.
Mary Higgins Clark really is the queen of suspense. The story was already full of intrigue because of Melissa’s traumatic past, but then layer upon layer was pealed back to slowly reveal who could have taken the young step daughter. Once it was all figure out, another twist hit at the very end. What?!? How did she do that? This book got better and better as I read. I loved all the point of views this book was written in, giving interesting viewpoints of each scene. I loved that there was realistic trauma without being too descriptive to scar me for life. I didn’t cry, thankfully, I was just on the edge of my seat, mind racing to figure it all out.
